Catch-Up Time!!

Hello, hello!

I am finally taking the time to sit down and relate the events of the past several days!

~Friday~
The second square dance of the school year was on Friday evening. I was picked up about 6:50... Nick was my 'date.' :) The evening was a lot of fun - after all, how can a dance not be?!? ;) Square dances are wholesome entertainment and fantastic exercise!! I was asked for all but one of the nine dances :D ...so that makes five square dances, a waltz, a polka and the Virginia Reel. One of my favorite things is the Grand Square. It's so cool how it works!!
Everyone was in very good spirits after the dance was over and there was some scuffling with a cooler of icy water and all such fun pranks. :P A couple of people got doused but it didn't dampen their moods. :D











~Saturday~
Saturday was yet another gorgeous autumn day!! Rose, Adam, Christa and I went bowling in the late afternoon. We bowled four games each - except Rose who sat out the last one. Nobody did too very well by their own standards, but we had a blast anyhow! There were lots of laughs all around... especially when it came to taking mpegs! ;)
After bowling, we went to the Food Court in the Mall to eat. Adam and Christa got Subway and Rose and I got Sbarro's... it was quite........ interesting ;) .......to watch all the passers-by below us. :P Chris was befriended by a toddler who was playing hide-and-seek with her behind her chair. :D After this break for sustenance, we did some shopping in the Mall and succeeded in getting even sillier than we had been at the bowling alley! :O :P Yeah, we got pretty goofy.
Then, we stopped off at Walmart to pick up some things. We said our Rosary on the way home and went by the park for a very few minutes to enjoy the beautiful evening. Once again, we acted significantly younger than our ages. ;) I think it was good though - probably sort of a stress release. :D

~Sunday~
After the 9 am Mass on Sunday, Rose and I went to the clinic, intending to stay only a short time. Over six hours later, we finally came home again! Mom had come down to get some necessary things done and, since we had our homework with us, it was easy to stay a long time. I wasn't home 20 minutes before it was time to leave again... this time for the cast party for "To Heaven through the Window" (RMP's latest production - a remake of the story of St. Gerard's life). Quite a number of people showed up and I think it's quite safe to say that they all enjoyed and appreciated the final product very much.
I reached home shortly before 9 and left again at 9:30 to take a moonlight walk in the beautiful weather. That ended the evening very well and I actually got to bed before midnight!!!!! :O :O ;)





~Monday~
Monday was fairly uneventful, relative to the weekend. :) Our house was (and is) in the process of being repainted. School went pretty much as usual... Physical Science, a Latin test and History. The evening went by fairly quickly. I had a rather important talk with a friend of mine. And I got to bed about midnight.

~Tuesday~
(This post says "Wednesday, October 19, 2005" but it still feels like Tuesday is "today" so....) Today was a busy day. Tuesdays are always long at school. We had a lab in Physical Science, a long Theology class, a typical Latin class and then lunch (when I had to go get school pictures taken. Oh joy. .... :P). I had a brief respite after lunch and then History and Ethics. At home, I visited with Mom and Rose and got a tad bit of homework done. After dinner, I went with Christa and Adam to a concert at K-State where we met up with a bunch of other (mostly college) people. :) I have no pictures from the concert because they didn't allow them :( ...but it was good. I thought the end got a little long, but the half before intermission was really good!
After the concert, we went by Walmart and then headed home. Hilary is spending the night tonight because her mom is out of town...

~Wednesday~
Tomorrow, I only have one class - Liturgy. In the afternoon and evening, however, we have the first off-script rehearsal. It will be a complete run-through. Hopefully, it goes well. I know almost all my lines..... I think! :P ...(yes, I do)...

This weekend is the pilgrimage to Starkenburg. Plans are STILL being ironed out for that! Hopefully, it will all fall into place in time. ;) That will probably take up the whole weekend so... that's all for now! I'll be back when there is further news to relate or whenever I have time (ha!). :) Thank you for reading and go ahead and comment! ;)

Hello, all!!

I think there are a least a couple of you out there who are waiting for the promised update on the weekend....... it's coming! :) I have been REALLY busy lately (they are ALL matters of life and death; I assure you! :P) but I hope to get back to the blog soon and update you all. So brace yourselves for a looooooong post. ;) Don't worry - it'll have pictures. :D

Now that I've got all that to live up to, I'd better stop while I'm ahead (always assuming that I am)!! Thanks for checking the blog and please come back soon. :)



Oh, and by the way, this is a picture of a wolf-dog that has been impounded by the city because of complaints (ALLEGEDLY, it ate a chihuahua at the trailer court where it was being kept)..... pretty cool to have a wolf in the pound anyhow! :P And would you believe that it's less than a year old?? :O

It's been a good week......... well, I don't suppose it's over quite yet, but so far, so good.
Tuesday.... what happened on Tuesday? Oh yeah, Tuesday is my longest day of the school week. I had Physical Science for two hours, Theology, Latin, History and Ethics. I didn't have to work that evening, so I made cookies. Quite a few. :) We said Rosary and I did some dishes and then typed History notes.... just stuff.

I was able to sleep in on Wednesday, a little bit. The only class I had was Liturgy. That afternoon, we had play practice which actually wasn't as tedious as it often is, because this time all the chorus members were able to be there!!! That's a first!!!!! We were able to go through all the blocking the way it will probably stay and went over most parts twice or three times each. I'm feeling a little more confident about it all now. The play looks like it'll be REALLY good!! If you're within 150 miles of here, you've gotta come see it! ;) (.....of course, that's because I'm in it. :P)
The weather on Wednesday was REALLY nice. Sadly, I had to study for a Theology test. I went to the Reading Room a little before 8, armed with chocolate chip cookies ;), and set out to study with a bunch of classmates. Well, that didn't go too well. I got a LITTLE bit done, but mostly helped other people.... so I guess it could still have been considered productive. I got home about 10:30 but wasn't able to force myself back to the books until midnight. Then I settled down and applied myself for about 45 minutes. I was amazed to find that the syllogisms made sense! I could understand them!!!! :D But when I started falling asleep on my notebook, I went to bed.

This morning, I had Physical Science, (a free hour in which I studied Theology), the Theology test and a Latin quiz. The Theology test went decently. I didn't ace it but I think I did well enough.... especially considering the amount of studying that went into it. ;) (j/k) This afternoon, I had NO classes!!!!!!! :D :D :D We normally have Ethics on Thursday afternoons, but because of the priests' day of recollection, we didn't have it today! With another beautiful day awaiting me outside, I took some pictures around campus. I LOVE nice weather (who doesn't??) - it works wonders for people's moods! :D Then I went on a walk with Adam and Chris and took some more pictures. :) They had class though, so I spent some time in the computer lab, just vegging, and got tormented by Strongbad cartoons. The guys around here think they're hilarious. *puzzled*

And that is where I am now.... in the computer lab, updating this blog. :) I'll see if I can't post some of the pictures I took, later, when I'm at home. I work tonight - probably for the last time!! Or maybe the second to last time.

This weekend will be busy but a lot of fun, methinks! :D I'll have to let everyone know how it goes. Okay? :)

Lately...

Okay, quick summary of the past couple of days here..........

Sunday, I went to the 9 am Mass with Rose. I admittedly dozed off at some points during the sermon, but that was through no fault of Father's! ;) I had play practice from noon to 2 and then talked with some friends for about an hour after that. Right after that, I went with Mom to watch Rose's netball game..... fascinating! .....then home again to talk to Jeanette briefly and then eat dinner and say Rosary.
Later that evening, I went on a 30 minute walk by myself in the cool night air - that was really quite nice!! Gave me a chance to get some thinking in. :) Afterwards, I had a long and very good conversation with a friend of mine... that took up the remainder of the evening. (I said it was long. :D)

Today, it was back to the daily grind. Started the day with a pop quiz in Physical Science. :/ We got our tests back from last week... I did satisfactorily, though it wasn't the best grade in the class. We also got our History quizzes back this morning. Yep. That was bad.
We had a Latin test right before lunch. I had actually done some studying for that, so it went just fine. My only class in the afternoon was History. That was a rather confusing class because there were multiple kings over various countries who had the same names! ;) The school day was over by 3:05...
When I got home, plumbing guys were tramping throughout the house. ;) They seemed to be EVERYWHERE :P but there were only two of them! :) Anyhow, thankfully!, they got all the toilets working again.... took 'em a few hours but that, at least, was accomplished. They have to come back later to replace at least one faucet and work on the showers. (Geesh, what a project.) Because they WERE everywhere, Mom didn't really think it was a good idea to start dinner and get in the way thus. So Rose, Joey and I went over to Wamego and picked up Sonic.
After dinner, I took a walk with Adam in the nice Fall evening. That refreshed me sufficiently to actually act as a catalyst for about an hour's worth of schoolwork! :) That left very little to the rest of my evening and so here I am! :P

There you have a brief run-down of the past two days. Rather typical.
Anyhow, since I can never think of any decent way to gracefully end these posts, I think I'll just say goodnight! :)

Saturday

Saturday was a good day, thanks be to God, as it followed on the heels of a very long, hard week.

Having gone to bed at 2, I slept until 8:30 and woke up in a very good mood (who knows why! ;))... it was down to the clinic for a shower and then home again. Mom and Joey went to Topeka for Joey's guitar lesson and after getting Dad lunch, I went with Rose to the clinic to do laundry. That was quite a hilarious experience!! Rose and I got goofy (musta been the mike'n'ikes, as well as the ever-present camera).... and that's always dangerous. :D Eventually, however, we buckled down and got homework started while the wash was going. Later in the afternoon, we went over to campus so Rose could go to the library and I could put some books away in my locker. Then, we went out into the woods behind the school and I shot some more proofs for Rose's senior pictures. When we went back by the clinic, we found that it had been locked in our absence and we didn't have a key!! So we drove back home and got the key from Mom, grabbed a couple of bbq chicken wings to eat, and left again. Adam had asked me if I was interested in going bowling so when we got back to the clinic, I belatedly called him back and said yes, I was interested. He picked me up 15 minutes later and we left Rose to her own devices. ;)

We arrived at Gage Bowl about 6:15, to find everyone well under way in playing. There was one reserved lane left so Adam and I got that one. There were about a dozen people there and I think everyone played four games each (except Michelle who spectated ;)) My scores were all over the place but I had fun! :D It's AMAZING how quickly a game goes when it's only two people!!!! Wow. So, about 8 o'clock, we left to go eat someplace. We got to Ruby Tuesday's only to find that there would be a 45 minute wait for a party of twelve. So everybody piled back into the cars and headed over to Steak'n'Shake. It took a while to get served (I guess because it was a big table) but the company was good so I - for one - didn't mind waiting. (My stomach disagreed with me slightly on that point. ;)) After a satisfactory meal, we paid and took our various vehicles home. I was glad to get a Rosary in on the way back. Adam dropped me off at the clinic, when we discovered that Rose and Joey were STILL down there!! :O ;) We were there for another couple of hours and got home some time after midnight. Lugging all that laundry in was.... *whew!!*

In overview, the day was REALLY good!!! (No particularly special reason why it should've been; it just was.) I woke up in a good mood, the weather was FABULOUS!, my afternoon was enjoyable and I had a very nice evening. *Aaahhh* I enjoyed the good day while it lasted. :D
